Our Beliefs
We believe that we were created by God to “Live and Love Like Jesus.” As a United Methodist congregation, we have an obligation to bear a faithful Christian witness to Jesus Christ, the living reality at the center of the Church’s life and witness. To fulfill this obligation, we reflect critically on our biblical and theological inheritance, striving to express faithfully the witness we make in our own time.

Meet Our Pastor
Rev. Joan Frenzel
What’s a girl from Lincoln, NE doing in Conway, SC serving Union United Methodist Church?
My daughter and her family have been living in Myrtle Beach since 2016, and I really wanted to be closer to my family. That is especially true for my only two grandchildren. We are all now residents of Conway. Plus, I am too young to be retired.
I have been a pastor serving the local church since 2004. I received my Master’s of Divinity degree in 2008. The last seven years I have been working full-time as chaplain at a rehabilitation hospital, having become a board-certified chaplain in 2015. Pastoral care and visitation have always been my passion. One of my favorite things is to hear someone’s story. We all need someone to listen to us. This is lost art.
My brother is three years older than I, and all of his family is in the Lincoln area. My parents are both deceased. My dad died in 2010, and my mom passed away in 2021 at the age of 93.
As a pastor, my calling is to awaken people’s spirituality through my sermons, bring people into a closer relationship with God, and to have everyone realize they are a child of God. I bring my passion, enthusiasm, and my love for the Bible in every sermon I preach.
Please come and hear the Scriptures come alive!
— Joan.
